Pöltl and Toronto experience a painful evening
Jakob Pöltl experienced a bitter evening with his Toronto Raptors in the NBA. The team was not only beaten by the Golden State Warriors, but also suffered an injury shock. The Viennese player himself was at least able to score points personally.
The Toronto Raptors not only lost 105:120 to the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association on Friday (local time), but also lost their All-Star Scottie Barnes, who was ruled out with an injury to his left metacarpal. Jakob Pöltl scored in double figures with ten points and 14 rebounds. The 28-year-old player from Vienna also notched up two assists, a steal and a block in 24:50 minutes.
After Barnes was injured, the Raptors went in at half-time with a 64:61 lead. However, the visitors from San Francisco quickly turned the game around after the break and never relinquished the lead from 73:71 (29th minute). Stephen Curry was responsible for 25 points for the Warriors in his team's eighth away win in a row, with Jonathan Kuminga adding 24.
Celtics' streak continues
With 23 points, RJ Barrett was the top scorer for the Canadians, who still have just 22 wins after 60 games this season. The Charlotte Hornets visit Toronto on Sunday.
The Boston Celtics celebrated their tenth success in a row with a 138:110 win against the Dallas Mavericks. Jayson Tatum contributed 32 points. A triple-double of 37 points, twelve rebounds and eleven assists from Luka Doncic was not enough for the Texans. Giannis Antetokounmpo was unstoppable in the Milwaukee Bucks' 113:97 away from home against the Chicago Bulls. The "Greek Freak" scored 46 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. The Bucks won for the fifth time in a row.
