Mader-Elf at KSV
A Bregenz player celebrates a reunion with his ex
Bregenz visit Kapfenberger SV today, looking to redeem themselves for their recent defeat against bottom club Amstetten. Midfielder Kristijan Makovec will not be handing out any presents on his return to his old club.
The Bregenz side have put the embarrassing 1-0 defeat at home to bottom club Amstetten behind them. "There's no point in thinking about it too much. We know that we did a lot wrong in that game," said midfielder Kristijan Makovec.
And today, the state capital side now have KSV to face. They don't want to hand out any more presents. Not even Makovec, for whom the match in Styria means a reunion with his former club; the Croatian laced up his boots for KSV in the 2018/19 season, appearing in 18 matches. "I'm looking forward to seeing the familiar faces, I felt comfortable there," he says, but also makes it clear: "We're certainly not going to hide away from them, we want to win this game."
Captain missing
Almost the entire squad is fit, but coach Markus Mader will have to do without one important player today. Captain Ivo Kralj, who twisted his ankle in the game against Amstetten, did not make the trip. The 23-year-old suffered a collateral ligament injury and underwent an MRI on Thursday. An exact diagnosis is still pending, but it shouldn't be too bad.
