Joy at the Sharks: Goalie Buitenhuis stays!
Innsbruck's ice hockey club is already working on its new team after the season ended ingloriously in the pre-playoffs. With the contract extension of goalkeeper Evan Buitenhuis, the club has managed to keep a fan favorite.
Buitenhuis was an absolute bright spot for Innsbruck's Sharks. The Canadian showed outstanding performances over long stretches and is a fan favorite. No other crack was voted "Man of the Match" more often at home games. With the 30-year-old's contract extension, an important building block for the 2024/25 season was laid early on.
"I'm already looking forward to getting going again with my team-mates from the summer."

Innsbruck second home
"I'm delighted and excited to start another season with the Sharks. The city and the organization are like a second home to me. I feel very comfortable in Tyrol and I'm already looking forward to getting started again with my teammates in the summer," said Buitenhuis.
Three legionnaires on board
"He was instrumental in many of our victories and played a big part in our promotion to the play-offs in the Champions League. We are optimistic about our future together," said a delighted sports boss Max Steinacher.
With Buitenhuis, Jan Lattner and Anders Krogsgaard, the Sharks have three legionnaires on board for the coming season, with Corey Mackin set to follow.
