3 dead after train accident in Örebro, Sweden
Three people have died in a train accident in Örebro, Sweden, 160 kilometers west of the capital Stockholm. They were hit by a train at a level crossing late on Wednesday evening.
According to Swedish media reports, the accident occurred at a level crossing. The radio station SVT reported that the victims had got off a passenger train and had not seen a freight train approaching as they crossed the crossing. There were no indications that this was anything other than a tragic accident, said a police spokesman.
One victim not yet identified
There were three pedestrians, including a man aged around 25, a woman in her 20s and one person who has not yet been identified.
It initially remained unclear how the accident could have happened. The police launched an investigation.
