GP throws in the towel: “Must set an example”

A general practitioner is giving up his third-generation practice - and explains his decision in drastic terms: "Working conditions have become so bad that I say: I'm no longer interested." However, 96 percent of the 679 GP positions in Upper Austria are currently filled.

"It's no fun when medicine gets a raw deal." You can hear the anger in the voice of Volker Sinnmayer (51). The general practitioner will be terminating the health insurance contract for his GP practice in Pabneukirchen, which he is the third generation to run, in the fall after 20 years.
