Avalanche hit the piste: ski instructor dug out child

Large amounts of fresh snow in the Tyrolean mountains led to an increased avalanche warning level on Friday. A snow slab fell onto a slope in the Hintertux Glacier ski area, where a ski instructor was skiing with three children. 

At around 2.20 p.m. on Friday, a 10-meter-wide and 30-meter-long avalanche hit the black slope 17b in the Hintertux Glacier ski area. At this time, a 21-year-old ski instructor was skiing down with three children aged around 10 to 12 years (ages currently unknown). 

Child partially buried
The ski instructor and one of the children were caught in the avalanche. The child was partially buried and could be dug out unharmed by the ski instructor within a very short time. The slope was closed immediately.
