Woman hit pedestrians on a pedestrian crossing and fled
The police in Innsbruck are currently looking for a hit-and-run driver who is believed to have hit two pedestrians on a crosswalk on Friday morning. Both women were injured, one of them seriously. The unknown driver fled the scene.
According to the police, the accident occurred at around 6.50 a.m. on Innsbruck's Schusterbergweg at house number 81. A 32-year-old Austrian woman and a 56-year-old Croatian woman were about to cross the road at the crosswalk. They were hit head-on by the stranger's car and thrown onto the road. Without even stopping, let alone helping the women, the driver drove on and turned right into Werner-von-Siemens-Straße shortly after the crosswalk.

The 32-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the accident, while the 56-year-old woman sustained minor injuries. The ambulance took both women to the hospital in Innsbruck.
Police appeal for witnesses
The police are now looking for the unknown female driver who committed a hit-and-run after the accident. She is said to be a blonde woman with short hair.
Witnesses to the accident and the driver herself are asked to contact the Innsbruck Traffic Inspectorate on 059133 7591.
