Families let their fists fly during a lift ride

A Romanian and a Dutch family got into such a heated argument during a ski lift ride in Sölden that they let their fists fly. One man and one woman were injured.

At around 12.30 pm on Thursday, a physical altercation broke out between a Dutch family of four and a Romanian family of three in the Sölden ski area. The incident occurred during the ascent in the middle station area.

A Romanian man was injured to an indeterminate degree as a result of the altercation. He was flown to hospital in Zams by emergency helicopter. A Dutch woman sustained injuries of indeterminate severity and sought medical treatment on her own. Once the investigation has been completed, the relevant authorities will be notified.
