"Death of a dog"
Medvedev rejoices at pilot’s murder
A high-ranking member of Kremlin despot Vladimir Putin's inner circle has now spoken out about the death of the Russian helicopter pilot who was shot dead in Spain after fleeing the country. "The death of a dog for a dog", commented the acting Vice-Chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, on the brutal execution of the young deserter.
Former President Medvedev's comment was published on his Telegram channel. When asked whether it mattered by whose hand the 33-year-old pilot Maxim Kuzminov died, the Putin confidant replied curtly: "I said everything."
For Kremlin, pilot was "moral corpse" after defection
The head of the Russian foreign intelligence service SWR had previously commented on Kuzminov's death. "This traitor and criminal became a moral corpse the moment he planned his dirty and terrible crime," Sergei Narishkin had declared.
Russia wants to take Kiev
Medvedev also spoke about the next military plans in the war of invasion against Ukraine. The plan is to capture the Ukrainian capital Kiev in order to "achieve the goals of the special military operation". "If not now, then at some point," he added.
Medvedev justified the planned capture of Kiev on the grounds that it was a "Russian city". In addition, the city was "an international threat to the existence of the Russian Federation", as Kiev was ruled "by an international brigade of Russia's opponents".
"Odessa is our Russian city"
He also conceded that Russia had "long coveted" the metropolis of Odessa. "Also because of the history of this city, the type of people who live there, the language they speak, it is our Russian city," the former Kremlin chief explained.
