Chaos because of Viennese rapper: fan (15) arrested

After the stampede at a hairdressing salon in Vienna-Favoriten on Tuesday afternoon because of an up-and-coming rapper, the police are now taking stock of the incident. Officers had to be deployed because the crowd reached out into the street - public transport was obstructed. A 15-year-old fan even had to be arrested.

There was great excitement late on Tuesday afternoon in Laxenburger Straße in front of a hairdressing salon, where the up-and-coming Viennese artist Shabab was supposed to have been visiting. A large crowd of young fans quickly formed in front of the studio - the police had to be deployed.

Fans blocked public transport
Numerous teenagers were on the sidewalk, two lanes of traffic and sometimes on the streetcar tracks, blocking traffic. Rapper Shabab described the gathering as a "state of emergency". According to the police, however, the gathering was quickly dispersed after repeated announcements via loudspeaker. Traffic could also be cleared a short time later. 

Boy (15) became aggressive
Only one 15-year-old boy is said to have behaved aggressively towards the officers. He was provisionally arrested for public indecency and disorderly disturbance, among other things. Several administrative offenses were reported during the operation.
