Accident in Sölden
Skier in critical condition after collision
Unfortunately, there is no end to the serious accidents on Tyrol's slopes: this time it was another collision between skiers in Sölden. A Swede (55) was seriously injured ...
At around 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday, the 55-year-old Swede was skiing downhill with his daughter on a red slope on the Tiefenbachferner in Sölden on the right-hand edge of the slope with short turns. In the course of this run, he wanted to avoid a 34-year-old German woman and a 35-year-old German man who were standing on the right-hand edge of the piste.
Lost ski was fatal
One of the Swede's skis came loose, causing him to fall and crash into the two Germans. The 34-year-old and the 35-year-old were slightly injured in the accident and received first aid from the piste rescue team. The 55-year-old suffered serious injuries and was flown by rescue helicopter to Innsbruck Hospital in a critical condition after initial treatment.
