Jump over ski jump ends fatally for 16-year-old

A 16-year-old German girl was seriously injured while jumping over a freestyle ski jump. For days she fought for her life in the Innsbruck clinic. In vain. 

As it only became known later, a 16-year-old German skier had skied over a freestyle jump in the Christlum ski area's "Funpark" at around 10 a.m. on February 16th. 

Witnesses saw the accident
She is believed to have lost control of her skis. When she landed, she hit the slope hard and sustained serious injuries.

Witnesses provided first aid and set the rescue chain in motion. After resuscitation by the emergency doctor, the victim was taken by rescue helicopter to Innsbruck Hospital, where she died on Monday.
