Girl (15) fell twelve meters from chairlift

Shock for a holidaying family from Denmark skiing in Ischgl in Tyrol: on Wednesday, the parents had to watch as their 15-year-old daughter fell twelve meters from a chairlift. The father desperately tried to prevent the fall. 

The vacationing family was skiing in the Silvretta ski area. At around 1.45 pm, the father, mother and daughter boarded an 8-seater chairlift. However, the 15-year-old was unable to position herself correctly when getting on. She slipped out of her seat and was in danger of falling out of the lift.

Father and helper held 15-year-old for some time
The father and another passenger held on to the girl. However, they were no longer able to hold the 15-year-old between the second and third supports. She fell twelve meters into the depths and lay seriously injured on the edge of the slope. After first aid by the piste rescue team, the Danish girl was flown to Innsbruck Hospital.
