Trump wins the Republican primary in Nevada

Former US President Donald Trump has won the Republican primary in the US state of Nevada (see video above). This time, voting took place on two separate days as the party had been arguing over how the primaries should be run.

On Tuesday, Trump's last serious rival Nikki Haley was on the ballot. However, she received fewer votes than the "none of the above" option. On Thursday, Trump stood for election, which was also about delegate votes. Late in the evening (local time), US television stations finally reported that Trump had won the primary election as expected. They referred to their own forecasts.

The next Republican primary is again scheduled for both at the same time on February 24 in South Carolina. Haley was previously governor of this state. She also has numerous campaign appearances planned in the coming weeks, even though Trump clearly dominates the race.

Anyone who wants to become a presidential candidate in the USA must first prevail in internal party primaries. The candidates are officially chosen at party conventions in the summer. The actual presidential election is scheduled for the beginning of November. At present, all indications are that Trump will run against Democrat Joe Biden.
