Deep mourning in the small village of Meislingeramt, which belongs to Senftenberg in the district of Krems: A hunter is believed to have been killed by his own weapon.

A walker discovered a lifeless body below a high stand on Tuesday. The witness immediately alerted both the police and the rescue services via the emergency number.

The emergency services were quickly at the scene of the tragic incident. Accident at the high stand
Criminologists reconstructed that the victim probably accidentally put his finger on the trigger while descending or ascending - the rifle was probably unsecured. The gun then fired a shot into the head. The victim, a lawyer with a law firm in St. Pölten, was killed instantly.
