Attack in southern Ukraine
Two Frenchmen killed by Russian shelling
According to official reports, two volunteers from France were killed by Russian fire in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine.
"Three other foreigners suffered minor injuries," announced military governor Olexander Prokudin on Thursday.
The small town of Beryslav was shelled. A Ukrainian helper was also injured.
Ukrainians had only liberated Beryslav from Russian occupation in the fall of 2022 as part of their counter-offensive. However, Beryslav is located on the banks of the Dnipro River, which forms the front line at this point. The city is therefore regularly shelled from the Russian side.
