Singer Cher gives a big “Mamma Mia” encore

Cher gives an encore, but not on stage. The singer will be back in the third part of the successful "Mamma Mia" movie series. Her on-screen nemesis Amanda Seyfried, who is taking on the role of Sophie for the third time, has now revealed this to "E News": "Cher is definitely taking part again. To be honest, I wouldn't have said yes otherwise."

The legendary singer played Sophie's grandmother Ruby Sheridan in the second part of "Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again" seven years ago.

Streep back again?
Seyfried is confident that Meryl Streep will also be "resurrected" in the role of her movie mother Donna after she died in the second part. Cher is also counting on this, as she revealed to "Deadline": "Meryl simply has to be back. It was an incredibly great experience and totally funny to play her mother. Hysterically funny!"

The biggest obstacle is that there is still no finished script. Judy Craymer, who wrote both the musical script and the first two films, is still writing it.

"Already have a good idea"
More specifically, she revealed that she is still in the early stages: "But I already have a good idea of how to bring Amanda, Meryl and Cher back together in front of the camera."

However, she did not reveal when that might be. Why Seyfried got carried away with the joke: "Look forward to 'Mamma Mia 3' - in your cinemas before 2038". The 39-year-old promises fans not to worry: "You can rest assured that there will be a 'Mamma Mia 3'!"
