Miracle averted! Bayern also wins in Leverkusen

FC Bayern Munich took the next step on the way to the "Final dahoam" in the Champions League with ease!

Bayern followed up their 3-0 win in the first leg of the German round of 16 tie with Bayer Leverkusen with a 2-0 away victory on Tuesday. Barcelona (3:1 against Benfica Lisbon) and Inter Milan (2:1 against Feyenoord Rotterdam) also progressed safely.

Bayern, the Bundesliga leaders and well on their way to the league title, also made their status as number one in Germany clear in the top flight.

Harry Kane was on hand from a free-kick to score his tenth goal of the season in the Champions League (52'), Alphonso Davies scored the final goal (71'). Bayern's Konrad Laimer, who was yellow-carded, was substituted at the break.

Bayern now face Inter
Bayern will face Inter in the quarter-finals. After their 2-0 win in Rotterdam, the Italians did not let anything get in their way in Milan and added to their tally with Marcus Thuram's superb solo strike (8').

Feyenoord equalized through Jakub Moder from the penalty spot (42') and Hakan Calhanoglu restored the three-goal advantage with a penalty (51').

The two ÖFB team players also took to the field in the second half. Inter striker Marko Arnautovic was substituted in the 71st minute, while Feyenoord defender Gernot Trauner made his first appearance in a month after recovering from injury in the 63rd minute.
