Fire in Andau: 75 firefighters in action

A fire broke out in the roof truss of a house in Burgenland on Tuesday morning for reasons as yet unexplained. Several people had to be treated for suspected smoke inhalation.

The Andau, Frauenkirchen, Tadten and St. Andrä fire departments were alerted to a detached house in the early hours of the morning. The roof truss of the building was already on fire.

Heavy smoke
Due to the heavy smoke, four people from neighboring buildings had to be treated in hospital to rule out smoke inhalation.

A total of 75 firefighters were deployed. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway.
