4.69 per mille – police take man to police station

A man looked deep into his glass on Wednesday in Hamburg in Germany: the measuring device showed an unbelievable 4.69 per mille. The police even had to carry him to the police station on Wednesday evening because the 44-year-old could no longer walk himself.

The drunk man was lying on platform 1 of Hamburg-Harburg station in the German city of Hamburg on Wednesday evening. Railroad employees found him there and preferred to leave the matter to the police. The officers checked the 44-year-old, who had been drinking heavily.

"He couldn't walk at all. Normally, officers only support drunk people," said the police spokesman. However, the officers knew what to do and carried the man to the police station without further ado.

Sobering up under medical supervision
When it came to the breathalyzer, however, the man with a permanent address showed his ambition once again: "He was still able to operate the breathalyzer and really wanted to." The result was an astonishing 4.69 per mille. The ambulance was therefore called immediately. "With a value that high, you have to sober up under medical supervision," explained the spokesperson.
