Government in tatters? Definitely with potential …

The so-called "most foolish time" - it is now reaching its peak. At the weekend, especially on Shrove Monday and Shrove Tuesday.

Shrove Monday is not only a particularly fun day in Austria this year, but also the day on which we finally get a government 155 days after the elections.

Because if the NEOS don't break up the coalition at the last minute on Sunday, the government led by Christian Stocker as Federal Chancellor and Andreas Babler and Beate Meinl-Reisinger will be sworn in.

"Rose Monday government" - that sounds pretty positive, doesn't it? Of course, you could also use the name of this day from the Salzkammergut: Rag Monday. Sounds less friendly

Whereby "Rosenmontag" is not derived from the beautiful flowers, but from the West Middle German "rosen" - in the sense of "racing" or "raving". Again, not really nice.

All these terms: They fit the low expectations of the new government - you wouldn't even have to look at the critical letters to the editor of the "Krone" or the postings on krone.at.

Rag, Rose Monday or sweet treat government: it certainly has great potential to surprise the Austrians in a positive way.
