52-year-old woman relieved of € 2,500 by fraudsters

A 52-year-old Belgian woman living in Salzburg's Pinzgau region fell victim to an internet fraudster at the beginning of the year.

The woman was contacted by unknown perpetrators on a social media platform in January this year and informed about a supposed competition. In order to win a prize of 150,000 dollars, the woman was asked several times to pay fees for the payout.

After no winnings had been paid out to date, the Belgian woman, who lives in Pinzgau, filed a complaint. The 52-year-old suffered a loss of just under 2500 euros.
