All-clear after filter system fire at Kaindl

Because even the automatic extinguishing system was no longer effective, the fire department had to be deployed to the Kaindl wood processing company in Wals-Siezenheim on Monday night. Fortunately, the firefighters quickly got the flames under control.

As suspected at the beginning, a deflagration occurred in the area of a filter system. So-called cyclone dust separators were identified as the cause.

According to initial investigations, the damage was estimated at less than 50,000 euros. Parts of the production in the medium-density fiberboard area are temporarily at a standstill; for safety reasons, the company fire department kept a fire watch from midnight.
