The women's European Cup giant slalom in Oberjoch (D) turned into a hundredths of a second thriller. When Tyrolean Nina Astner won on Sunday, Elisa Platino (Italy) was just 0.97 seconds behind in 23rd place. Victoria Olivier from Auer was only 47 hundredths off the podium, but "Vici" - who has already won an EC-RTL in Hippach this season - "only" managed 14th place.

Yesterday's decision was similarly close. The first 18 women were within 88 hundredths of each other. Charlotte Lingg (Lie) won by 0.2 seconds ahead of Sophie Mathiou (It), followed by eight women in the next two tenths. Including Olivier, who improved from sixth place in the final to fourth place - shared with Sue Piller (Sz) and Norwegian World Championship starter Madeleine Sylvester-Davik.
