Ex-girlfriend locked in apartment for hours

On Monday night, the handcuffs clicked for a 28-year-old man in Vienna-Floridsdorf because he had locked his ex-girlfriend in his apartment for several hours.

The police became aware of the case after a relative filed a missing person's report on Sunday afternoon. When the officers found the missing woman at her home a short time later, she told them about the terrible crime.

Victim's cell phone destroyed
Her ex-boyfriend had kept the woman in his apartment for hours and locked her up. Only when she was able to convince him to release her did he bring her back. 

Prior to this, the 28-year-old is said to have destroyed the victim's cell phone and prevented her from leaving the car. A short time later, the suspect was arrested near his home.

Investigation underway
The 28-year-old was banned from entering and approaching. The investigation is ongoing as there is also suspicion of persistent persecution, assault and coercion.
