Drunk driver landed her car on local railroad tracks

The Salzburg police stopped several traffic offenders on Wednesday night. Two drivers were under the influence of drugs. A speeding driver was caught on the Tauern highway. In Stuhlfelden, the car of a drunk driver came to a halt on the tracks of the local railroad.

The police had their hands full during traffic checks: A 38-year-old driver was stopped on the Westautobahn near Söllheim. He tested positive for cannabis in a drug test. The doctor subsequently determined that the driver was not fit to drive. In Stuhlfelden, a 41-year-old man also refused to undergo a further examination after the preliminary test revealed cannabis.

Car towed away from local railroad tracks
A 22-year-old woman was also driving drunk in Stuhlfelden at around three in the morning. She skidded and ended up with her car on the tracks of the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.92 per mille. The car had to be towed away. The woman lost her driver's license. 

On the Tauern highway near Kuchl, a 37-year-old woman from Salzburg was stopped for speeding in the 100 km/h zone. She was traveling at 154 km/h. And on the Obertrumer Landesstraße, the police found a license plate after a hit-and-run accident. A 21-year-old man from Flachgau was driving the car, which had been badly damaged at home. He had 1.08 per mille alcohol in his blood. 

His driving license was confiscated. There are now several charges.
