“Want to join a regulars’ table”

"We're not yet members of a regulars' table. But that's definitely our goal for this year!" Tanja and Martina agree. The two young women in their 30s found out about the big Stammtisch party on Monday evening at the Augustiner Bräu in Mülln by chance - a post on social media. 

The promise of a sociable get-together and the half-price beer offer (a pint for 3.60 euros) has stayed with them ever since.

In fact, the goal of founding their own regulars' table is not unattainable. "You have to earn the right to call yourself a regulars' table. Anyone who has been to our place five times is recognized as a regulars' table," reveals Bräustübl director Rainer Herbe. Every member is then automatically the holder of a Stammtisch pass.

Included in this: Vouchers for delicacies and beer when visiting the Bräustübl. There are currently around 280 recognized "g'sellige Runden" in Salzburg. There are around 3200 members in total.

"The pass expires every year on January 31. That's why the big party with discounts for everyone takes place every last Monday in January," says Herbe. So it was hardly surprising that all 1100 seats in the Bräustüberl were already full in the afternoon yesterday.

Also at the start: one of the longest-running regulars' tables in Salzburg: founded in the 1970s. "Unfortunately, there are no longer any founding members of the historically oldest group. Their foundation dates back to 1856," says Herbe.

Hearty live music in all the halls and then the festive award ceremony for the "Delicacy Vendor of the Year" rounded off the Monday evening at the Augustiner Bräu in Mülln.
