After the driving test, new drivers do not stop learning, but continue to practice - the driving safety training is coming up. The ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik training courses are carried out according to the motto "learning through experience", which is why every participant drives themselves.

Over 30,000 new drivers take the car driving safety training course at the ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik centers every year.

Thanks to the extensive grounds with large protected areas, driving maneuvers are performed at local speeds. With the help of automated watering systems, sliding surfaces and computer-controlled water obstacles, emergency braking manoeuvres, correct evasive action, cornering and stabilizing a skidding car are practised under the guidance of trained instructors.

All participants have 100% driving training. If you don't have your own car, you can hire one from the modern fleet, but you can't just watch. The driver safety training must be completed three to nine months after the B driving license test.

Motorcycle driver safety training
Young and new motorcyclists also need to complete driver safety training. The two-wheeler centers, for example in Teesdorf on the outskirts of Vienna, have spacious tracks that allow you to perform maneuvers at a realistic speed. The grippy asphalt supports practical training content such as cornering technique, steering technique, various braking exercises and classic evasive maneuvers.

All exercises and content are practiced at different speeds and with constant feedback from experienced motorcycle instructors. To avoid having to complete the rider safety training in winter, motorcyclists have two to twelve months to complete their rider safety training.
