Weird: man takes his dog for a 24-hour “walk”

Just follow your nose - this was probably the motto under which a 31-year-old man set off with his dog in the Lesachtal valley in Carinthia on Saturday. Because even 24 hours later he is still not back ...

At around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, the 31-year-old takes his dog for a walk in the Lesachtal valley. A good 23 hours later, the police in Hermagor receive a missing persons report. "As he did not return and could not be contacted because his cell phone had been left in the house, a search operation was launched," the police report.

Several patrols, the "Libelle" police helicopter and the mountain rescue team, including search dogs, set off in search of the 31-year-old. But then came the surprising turn of events. "At around 17:40, the 31-year-old suddenly returned unharmed in a cab accompanied by his dog," said the police.

But what had happened? "He stated that he had gone out the previous evening with the intention of clearing his head," according to the police. A happy twist with some unanswered questions ...
