Falls on the slopes: Four skiers in hospital

Fallen skiers kept the piste rescuers on the Nassfeld busy on Saturday. Added to this were poor visibility conditions.

A total of four people had to be flown to hospital in Villach after falling. The skiers, aged 13, 25, 58 and 60, were all skiing in the Nassfeld ski area when they fell. 

Helicopter in action
The piste rescue team and two members of the Hermagor Alpine Rescue Team provided first aid and transported the injured skiers to a suitable helicopter landing site due to the poor lighting conditions. Both the ARA-3 rescue helicopter team and the ÖAMTC C7 rescue helicopter team were deployed.
