300 firefighters take the course for their truck driver’s license

Thanks to a cooperation with the Easy Drivers driving school, firefighters in Lower Austria are once again being prepared for their test in a practical way this year.

A successful collaboration is entering the next round this year: In cooperation with the Easy Drivers driving school, more than 300 young Florianis will again be prepared in four courses for the truck driver's license required to drive the large emergency vehicles.

Regulations, technology, rest periods
The first course of the year took place this week at the fire department center in Tulln. In addition to traffic regulations and vehicle technology, around 80 comrades were also trained in economical driving, load securing and driving and rest period regulations. The consequences of an accident at low speed were also experienced at first hand.

"We always try to offer the firefighters a broad and informative range of courses that are practical and entertaining," explains Karl Jechsmayr, who has been in charge of the training courses for many years. Preparation for the computer test takes place directly in one of the driving schools.

Partner for 17 years
The partnership between the state fire service association and the driving school has now been in place for 17 years. During this time, more than 4,400 local firefighters have been taught a wide range of knowledge about truck driving licenses.
