Fire alarm on Wednesday in Sölden in the Tyrolean Ötztal: a tool shed suddenly went up in flames in the middle of the night. A neighbor was literally woken from his sleep by the sound of the fire. He immediately raised the alarm. Dozens of emergency services arrived.

The fire broke out in a tool shed and workshop at around 4.15 am. "A neighbor was woken up by noises. When he looked out of the window, he saw the flames and made an emergency call," a police spokesperson told the Krone.

More than 60 firefighters on site
The emergency services were quickly on the scene and battled the fire. All in all, more than 60 firefighters from the Sölden, Gurgl and Vent volunteer fire departments were on site.

It is almost certain that the fire started in a smoking cabinet in the tool shed.

Car and Hoftrac also damaged
According to the police spokesman, fortunately nobody was injured. However, the damage is considerable. In addition to the building, two vehicles - a car and a Hoftrac - as well as various items of equipment were also damaged "It is almost certain that the fire started in a smoking cabinet in the tool shed", according to the investigators.
