Police confiscate illegal cybertruck

A British man has been stopped in Greater Manchester with a prohibited and very conspicuous vehicle. The man was driving a Tesla Cybertruck - now he's got rid of it for the time being. 

The vehicle, which is not registered for road use in the UK or the EU, is owned by the British man and was registered and insured abroad, the police announced on Facebook. The driver was reported to the police and the car was confiscated.

Police refer to "legitimate safety concerns"
"Although this may seem trivial to some, there are legitimate concerns for the safety of other road users or pedestrians should they be involved in a collision with the Cybertruck," the executive explained in the post. 

Too massive for European roads
The safety concerns are due to the unusual and massive construction of the pickup-like vehicle. Unlike normal passenger cars, it has an "ultra-hard stainless steel outer shell" instead of a deformable body. The authorities in Europe are also bothered by the sharp edges. In addition, at 5.7 meters long, 1.80 meters high and weighing more than three tons, it is a colossus. 

In the Czech Republic, an entrepreneur succeeded in registering a Cybertruck - an isolated case:

Tesla boss Elon Musk explained that the car had been developed according to specifications in the USA. He did not want to meet international requirements, which would have "made the product worse, to be honest". Nevertheless, some importers are trying to bring Cybertrucks to Europe. In the Czech Republic, one entrepreneur even managed to obtain an individual license. He covered the sharp edges of the bodywork with rubber bands.
