Jagerhofer wants to go through with the Wörthersee event

The big comeback of Hannes Jagerhofer and his beach volleyball at Lake Wörthersee has failed to materialize. But the event manager is planning to regain a foothold in Carinthia with another, albeit smaller, event.

Hannes Jagerhofer had to cancel the big Carinthia homecoming with four sports after the main sponsor pulled out, but the budget is sufficient for one sport. "Speed climbing will host the competitions from July 27 to 29," says the event guru.

Only where he is taking the competition is still open. "It could be in Velden at the ice rink, or in Maria Wörth, where ex-ice hockey player Matthias Trattnig is based. Maybe we'll go to the lido in Klagenfurt," says Jagerhofer.

Schwarzenbergplatz in Vienna is also in the running, "even Graz has made an enquiry. We'll decide where at the end of March." The budget is one million euros. "In 2026, I will definitely be staging the multi-sports tour with four sports, and this year we will be staging climbing at the same venue. We want people to see how a competition like this works."

In the coming years, beach volleyball, wakeboarding and water skiing will be added, and Jagerhofer wants to start a world series with the multi-sports tour.
