Presidency moves to Salzburg

In the second half of 2024, Robert Hergovich, President of the Burgenland State Parliament, chaired the Austrian Conference of State Parliament Presidents.

On 1 January, the chairmanship was transferred to Salzburg Provincial Parliament President Brigitta Pallauf. "It was very important to me that I could also use my chairmanship to set priorities in terms of content. The focus was on upgrading political education and expanding media skills in school lessons," says Hergovich.

The "Andau Declaration", which includes demands to the federal government and was adopted in October, is dedicated to the risks of social media for democracy.
