Sarrazin crash: “Operation on the head went well”

The French Ski Federation FFS announced on Saturday that Cyprien Sarrazin had "come through the important operation on his head well". However, after his brutal training crash in Bormio, the 30-year-old remains in an artificial coma for the time being. 

The ski world fears for Cyprien Sarrazin! On Saturday morning, there was finally positive news from the French Ski Federation FFS. "The overnight head surgery went well," they announced. However, the Kitz winner will remain in an artificial coma for the time being. "We will provide you with further information during the course of the day," said the federation.

Sarrazin took off on Friday as he entered the final section and hit his back and head heavily on the hard piste from a great height. The Frenchman slid motionlessly down the steep slope, cut the safety net with his skis and only then came to a standstill.

The emergency services were quickly on the scene and the 30-year-old was finally taken away by helicopter and operated on that evening.
