Car dealer allegedly “pimped” cars with drugs

"Pimp my car" - but not with more horsepower, but with drugs. A car dealer from Wels (Upper Austria) was arrested for allegedly boosting his turnover by smuggling narcotics. The handcuffs clicked during a trip.

The 41-year-old from Montenegro, who lives in Wels and runs a car dealership here, was already wanted by international arrest warrant because investigators from the Upper Austrian State Criminal Police Office had been able to prove that he was dealing in drugs. When the wanted man tried to enter Croatia, he was arrested and extradited to Upper Austria. He is now awaiting trial in Wels prison.

International car trafficking and drug smuggling
The prosecutors accuse him of having acted as the principal for cocaine shipments in the double-digit kilogram range. The narcotics were allegedly brought to Austria from abroad, including in specially prepared cars.

The accused had been operating an international car trade at various locations in Austria and abroad for some time and is said to have exploited this for his illegal shipments. He was supported by several people who took over the smuggling trips for him. So far, the man from Wels has denied everything.
