Paper cup set alight and thrown into garbage can

A firebug was up to mischief in the Tyrolean capital on Saturday evening. The as yet unknown perpetrator set fire to a garbage container. The Floriani firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 pm. "A passer-by was able to observe how the unknown male perpetrator set fire to a paper cup in Museumstraße and then threw it into a garbage container," said the investigators.

Caught on the run after the crime
The firebug immediately fled the scene. "The alerted Innsbruck fire department was able to extinguish the fire quickly." Only minor property damage was caused. Further investigations will follow.
