Major emergency services operation in the Leibnitz district: According to an initial report from the Red Cross, there was a traffic accident involving two vehicles in St. Johann im Saggautal at around midday today. Seven people, including four children, were injured. 

The injured persons were first treated by the Styrian Red Cross and then transported to hospital. One child and one adult were seriously injured in the accident. The seriously injured child was transported by rescue helicopter to the pediatric surgery department at Graz Regional Hospital, while the adult was also flown to Graz.

Three other children sustained minor to moderate injuries in the accident. Two of the children were transported by the Red Cross to the pediatric surgery department at Graz LKH, one child to Wagna LKH. The two adults with minor injuries were also taken to Wagna Regional Hospital by the Red Cross. 

Two rescue helicopters and two emergency doctors deployed
A total of two rescue helicopters, two emergency ambulances, a command vehicle and six Red Cross ambulances were deployed. Five first responders were also deployed to the scene of the accident. The Red Cross crisis intervention team was also alerted.
