Israel is said to have fired on chemical weapons factory

The Israeli air force is said to have attacked a chemical weapons factory in Syria to prevent weapons from falling into the hands of rebels. 

The background to this was the concern that the weapons developed during the rule of ousted President Bashar al-Assad could fall into the hands of rebels, wrote the "Jerusalem Post" on Sunday.

Israel's air force has been repeatedly attacking Syria for years, mostly to prevent weapons smuggling to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia. However, the military rarely comments on these attacks.
