Free public transport in the city on Advent Saturdays

On the four Advent Saturdays, the use of public transport in the state capital is free of charge. This measure is intended as an incentive to leave the car at home and costs the city 100,000 euros.

We are thus doing something for sustainable mobility and ensuring enjoyable and safe visits to markets and stores. We want to strengthen local trade and encourage people to switch to public transport. Journeys to family members and friends should also cost nothing on these special days," says Salzburg Mayor Bernhard Auinger. He plans to carry out such campaigns more often in the future.
