Pinzgau woman falls victim to internet scammers

The offer sounded promising: a woman from Pinzgau was offered a job as a film critic with high commissions on social media. However, she had to load a credit balance onto an account. The damage is high.

The 38-year-old apparently dreamed of making high profits in her new job. In order to be able to submit movie reviews, she had to load a credit balance onto a work account. She then transferred further amounts. 

When the fraudsters then asked the woman from Pinzgau to transfer another four-digit euro sum, the woman became suspicious. She did not comply and filed a complaint. The victim suffered losses in the mid five-figure range. The investigation is ongoing.
