Drugged driver stopped with firearms

Not keeping a safe distance and using a cell phone: On Sunday afternoon, the police stopped a car driver in the area of the Salzburg Süd highway exit. A drug test was positive and a firearm with ammunition was seized.

As the 31-year-old from Flachgau showed clear signs of impairment during the check, alcohol and drug tests were carried out. According to the police report, the latter was positive for THC and amphetamines.

The driver also had firearms and ammunition with him and stated that he was a marksman and was on his way to training.

After consulting with the authorities, the police issued a weapons ban and confiscated the firearms and ammunition.
