“Fresco” entices with cevapcici and fresh fish

From now on, you can stop off for a coffee and croissant at Klagenfurt station. But it's not just breakfast that's on the menu - lunch menus and dinner menus also provide culinary delights. The "Krone" stopped by on the opening day. 

"We did everything ourselves! We worked for two months, with friends and family helping to renovate the restaurant," says Toni Dauti, restaurant manager of the newly opened "Fresco" restaurant at Klagenfurt's main railway station. The result is impressive: the modern, stylish interior invites you to linger and enjoy. "Fresh fish is delivered from Grado twice a week and it's accompanied by real Italian red wine," says Dauti, who comes from Naples, enthusiastically.

Visitors are delighted
The first visitors are not long in coming. Marianne Tamerl from St. Paul and Margot Stebernjak from Klagenfurt are delighted: "We found out that the restaurant had opened and stopped in straight away - a really wonderful atmosphere," the two visitors agree.

Lunch menu at affordable prices
The restaurant is open from 6.30 am to around 9 pm. "As long as there are guests, we serve them," promises Dauti: "We don't have a day off at the moment either." At lunchtime, you can choose between three menus at affordable prices. In the evening, the "Fresco" serves mainly Italian cuisine and homemade desserts.

With seating for 82 people, the restaurant manager is not only hoping for visits from station guests: "There are enough offices in the area - we would be delighted to welcome employees." When summer comes knocking on the door again, the terrace on platform one will be open once more. Here, food is cooked and served with passion and enthusiasm and individual wishes are catered for.
