Thief allegedly stole 130 car tires in Pongau

During a traffic stop yesterday, Saturday, the police caught a Romanian (41) who allegedly stole car tires on a large scale in Pongau. 

The 41-year-old Romanian is suspected of stealing more than 130 rimless tires from several garages in Pongau between 21 and 23 November.

The man was stopped during a traffic stop in Oberndorf in the late afternoon of November 23. The tires were found in the vehicle. The tires were seized. Further investigations are underway.

At the beginning of November, Salzburg police stopped two Romanians on the Walserberg. They had 120 car tires on board in their van and were unable to provide any information about the origin of the rubber.
