Possible kidnapping in Lower Austria: three people arrested

Three people have now been arrested in connection with the possible kidnapping of a man in the Waldviertel region on Thursday. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries. The police have confirmed a corresponding incident and the three arrests. Further details were not given with reference to the ongoing investigation.

The incident is said to have taken place on Thursday. A man from the Zwettl district is said to have been beaten up by the three suspects and then dragged into a car. The trio are believed to have demanded money from the victim and threatened to publish a damaging video.

Victim managed to escape from car
According to the newspaper "NÖN", the victim managed to escape from the car when it stopped. He alerted the police and the three men were arrested early on Friday morning in Waidhofen an der Thaya.
