Viennese escaped from burning room in time

Operation for the professional fire department on Thursday evening: An apartment in Brigittenauer Salzachstraße was on fire. The resident escaped himself, one of his neighbors had to be led outside with the help of firefighters. The cause is still unclear. 

The owner of the apartment is believed to have alerted the emergency services himself at around 8.30 pm. He managed to escape from his burning apartment on his own. Seven vehicles with 30 firefighters immediately rushed to the house not far from Allerheiligenplatz. When they arrived at the scene, thick black smoke was already billowing out of the window of an apartment on the second floor of the apartment building.

Neighbor was brought outside
Fire department spokesperson Christian Feiler confirmed the approximately one-hour operation to the "Krone" on Thursday evening. According to Feiler, an extinguishing line was laid using breathing apparatus, while the smoke-filled stairwell was ventilated with a high-performance fan. The occupant of the neighboring apartment had to be evacuated and taken outside by firefighters. It is still unclear what started the fire.
