Police stop speeders and several drunk drivers

During traffic checks, police officers pulled over a number of drivers in several Salzburg districts. One of the most common offenses was drunk driving.

A Croatian (39) was driving at 155 kilometers per hour instead of the permitted 100 kilometers per hour on the Tauern freeway on Saturday. Police officers stopped him in the municipality of Zederhaus and confiscated his driver's license.

Also in Lungau, a local man was driving his vehicle drunk in St. Michael. A breathalyzer test showed that the 34-year-old had 1.3 per mille. He lost his driver's license. The same happened to two locals (29, 50) in Bruck and Taxenbach. They had 1.3 and 2.2 per mille alcohol in their blood.

Officers caught two drunk women at the wheel in the city of Salzburg. A German woman (54) was driving with 0.6 and a North Macedonian woman with 0.8 per mille. The woman had her five-year-old daughter in the car. The two drivers also had to abandon their vehicles and surrender their licenses.

Scooter driver crashed while intoxicated
An e-scooter driver in the city of Salzburg crashed while drunk and was found by emergency services at around midnight. The Austrian (46) injured himself. A breathalyzer test showed 2 per mille.
