ÖSV slalom youngsters are eager to start in Levi

The red-white-red line-up for the women's and men's World Cup slaloms in Levi next weekend was finalized on Monday afternoon. Katharina Liensberger - who finished third in Finland last season, her only podium finish of the winter, and who had already traveled to the Arctic Circle on Monday - will be the only one starting in the women's event.

The situation is completely different in the men's event. There, the ÖSV's hopes rest not only on the shoulders of slalom overall World Cup winner Manuel Feller, but also on those of Olympic champion Johannes Strolz, who managed to get back into the top 15 of the start list with great results at the end of last winter.

In addition to the 32-year-old Warther, comebacker Christian Hirschbühl - the 34-year-old from Lauterach will be competing in his first race on Sunday after a 1036-day injury break - will be joined by a second Vorarlberg racer.

The "Rauch Young Racers" Moritz Zudrell and Jakob Greber will also be opening their new season in Levi. However, not at the World Cup yet, but exactly one week later, when the European Cup in Lapland will stop off with two slaloms.
