Glittering lights reflecting off Lake Wörthersee, flickering lights around the fire bowls, the scents of punch and incense mingle: the magic of Advent on Lake Wörthersee is a delight! In the angel town of Velden, visitors are enticed by the star puzzle rally, Fabian's Engerl-Treff and the floating Advent wreath with its 80,000 lights. Boats take you across Lake Wörthersee to the traditional village of Pörtschach, where the path of lights or a torch-lit hike will make you feel contemplative and the living nativity scene will keep you quiet.

A romantic Advent market delights visitors on the lantern-lit Maria Wörth peninsula, where Christmas music can be heard in the 900-year-old winter church. The Pyramidenkogel, the highest wooden observation tower in the world, towers 100 meters above. Regional craftsmanship and music await visitors at the foot of the tower at the Advent market. Ferlach in Rosental is small but beautiful during Advent. The magic of Advent on Lake Wörthersee begins on November 24 and continues throughout the weekends.

These luxury hotels await you
In the first week of Advent, we take you to the Werzer Hotel Resort in Pörtschach for two nights. Here you can take part in a torchlight hike in Pörtschach Bay along the sea of stars and are also served a glass of sparkling wine per person. A 2000 m² spa area also awaits you here.

In the second week of Advent, we invite you to Villa Flora, where you and your partner can take part in a romantic carriage ride through Velden. A sumptuous breakfast buffet also awaits you here.

On the weekend from December 8 to 10, you can stay at the Parkhotel in a double room with balcony and lake view and receive the Wörthersee Card for free use of the S-Bahn to Velden and Klagenfurt. The WörtherseeCard also gives you reduced admission to the Pyramidenkogel and much more. You can also take part in the torchlight hike in Pörtschach Bay. 

In the fourth and last week of Advent, you have the chance to stay at the Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden. Here you can expect 2 nights in one of the elegant and modern double rooms. The Schlosshotel also has a 3600m² spa area and a state-of-the-art fitness center. You will also receive a castle breakfast with a view of Lake Wörthersee and a romantic carriage ride through the Velden Advent market.
